The journalist Dieter Lindemann and the lawyer Esther have finally become parents - twins. But who stays at home now? Esther has just taken over the management of her law firm. So Dieter stays at home and is looking forward to the time out: sleeping late in the morning, having a leisurely breakfast and playing with the twins in the afternoon. Puppy cake! In 1981, all of Germany fears for the life of Johannes Erlemann, the eleven-year-old son of entrepreneur Jochem Erlemann, who was in custody on suspicion of fraud at the time of his son's abduction. The boy was snatched off his bicycle by his kidnappers, put into a van and then spend two terrible weeks in a shed in the forest fighting for his life having been chained to a wall and left without daylight, while the kidnappers try to extort a large ransom from his wealthy parents.

Boss Berger bullies his three secretaries on a daily basis, whereas all three of them in return are on constant alert to iron out their boss's many mistakes to save the company from ruin and subsequent unemployment.
